Is it a good idea to buy oil paintings reproduction of classical masterpieces?

In what way do you mean 'good idea'? It will give you access to easily view something you might not otherwise be able to view. It will be cheaper than the original. It will likely be available, whereas the original will likely not even be for sale.

A reproduction will not be exactly the same as viewing the original. It will not be of any value for resale purposes.

If you enjoy the piece and want it to hang on the wall of your home, then yes, it's probably a 'good idea' to buy a reproduction. Is it a good idea to buy oil paintings reproduction of classical masterpieces?
As an artist and respectful of other artists I have COPIES. I suggest it matters very little if you like a piece, unless you can truly afford the original and it happens to be available,,,IE: Van Gogh one of my faves/ Sunflowers, now in a Japanese, financial institution I believe, at a cost of 2.5 million. I can buy a repro for quite a bit less,,,AND still enjoy it
