How do I clean oil paintings from the 1920s-1930s?

They were painted in Denmark and displayed under normal living room conditions in Copenhagen all their lives. The bright pure colors on some have darkened. Some of them are quite spontaneous and unfinished so you can see parts of the white canvas. Some may have been protected with a varnish. Also, I'm not sure whether some are acrylic. They range in size from 2 x 3 ft to 3 x 5 ft and are largely sentimental in value. How do I clean oil paintings from the 1920s-1930s?
Even though they are not valuable in the monetary sense, it would serve you better to have a professional clean them. I would contact art galleries and museums to ask for contact info for art restorers. And, who knows, they may be more valuable than you think. How do I clean oil paintings from the 1920s-1930s?
