How can I find out the value of oil paintings?

Thanks! How can I find out the value of oil paintings?
that is tough you have to start with the sizes and the names of the artists then find out who handles that wok then get in touch with them and start asking questions if all that is too much you need to go to an appraiser beware that they will charge you a % according to the worth of what they find out that will cost you but if you are going to sell them then you can use that money to pay yourself back from the appraisers fee good luck it take some doing on your own but the computer helps a lot if you can read the name also check the back for any info in pencil or pens there is some there at timesHow can I find out the value of oil paintings?
Artists' ratings are an index that helps appreciating the value of his/her works. To help you there are guides:

Rating guides:

An artist's rating derives from the results of sales in national or international auction sales. When time passes and works ';circulate'; the artist's rating becomes a reliable criteria.

Unfortunately this does little or not apply to contemporary artists whose works did not yet go to auctions.

Among the guides, Akoun and Artprice are recommanded.

Artprice Indicator庐 gives you access to indicative values for an artwork in different years.

Artprice Knowledge庐 is a unique database of hundreds of millions of artist search sessions enabling artists to be grouped according to the tastes of art buyers and collectors.

P.S. you wouldn't find my works there (yet) but you can have a look at my website: http:/www.jacquesheymans.be
Your best bet would be to take you paintings to a reputable antique dealer who should know a few valuers or even auction houses would be able to steer you in the right direction.
Christie's, Sotheby's, among many other auction houses may be able to help you. Also, you can try owners of galleries who are generally well versed in the value of art.
