Unless you are famous or your paintings really good, forget it. I have been there. I learned it is just like photography. It is essayer to get an acting job in Holly wood than to sell anything from an unknown.

Where to find oil paintings of Paris?

I'm looking for an oil painting of Paris. Hoping to find a website that has a large collection with ability to order online/phone. I figure since I'm looking for something specific I'd have more luck finding a large concentration of that one thing online, rather than at an art gallery. Can anyone help? Thanks :)Where to find oil paintings of Paris?
I would begin my online search with art.com, where you can find links to galleries which DO sell online. Be aware, that what you will see online on art.com ARE prints NOT the actual paintings. But links from there to online galleries should abound. Best of success in finding your oil painting. If I come across other web sites, I'll append to my message here.

01- Wide publicity in the national dailies /internet .

02 - Art gallary show and inter national art festival shows .

03 - Get in touch with painters and artist and contact Handicrafts Development Corporation of India for displaying your paintings .

Wish you good luck and happy new year .
The best place to start is Ebay. just put up a few for auction and see what people think. dont sell them expensive though
very difficult to survive only on paintings. in which ever city u r try to get in touch with art galleries, visit when other artists hold exhibitions, judge the crowd and the result before hiring the gallery. and do u have enough painting for the full gallery. or join with other artists and hold a joint show. it is done now adays. also talk with the owner of the gallery and ask honest opinion about your paintings. don't go just by the opinion of relatives and friends
Arrange to exhibit it in any Exhibition
    display it in galary.

or roadside exhibition would b less expensive as well u can earn money.
Giant flea markets sometimes work. Check out your states craft fairs. They should be starting up in the spring and go all through to next fall. Good luck!..:)
have these exhibited in a gallery, giving the price of each painting.
Tag the price, sit on the road with the oil painting you have made and buyers will come to you.
Depends mainly on your style. Landscapeists find the best success in hobby stores/ flea markets. Abstracts will find better success in an urban scene rather than a small town. You can always hire a sales associate to commission your paintings...

How do I safely transport water-soluble oil paintings?

I am moving shortly and I have created a number of paintings in the past year. I use the water-soluble oil medium (oil paint you can mix with water). And I know you can roll oil paintings on canvas for transport...wondering if anyone had experience with the water-based kind of oil? I want my paintings to make it home safely :)How do I safely transport water-soluble oil paintings?
You can probably handle them in the same manner.

I have never tried those paints so I would be a little worried about cracking? Maybe you can put something like freezer paper between them and stick them into a a big portfolio folder.

Is it a good idea to buy oil paintings reproduction of classical masterpieces?

In what way do you mean 'good idea'? It will give you access to easily view something you might not otherwise be able to view. It will be cheaper than the original. It will likely be available, whereas the original will likely not even be for sale.

A reproduction will not be exactly the same as viewing the original. It will not be of any value for resale purposes.

If you enjoy the piece and want it to hang on the wall of your home, then yes, it's probably a 'good idea' to buy a reproduction. Is it a good idea to buy oil paintings reproduction of classical masterpieces?
As an artist and respectful of other artists I have COPIES. I suggest it matters very little if you like a piece, unless you can truly afford the original and it happens to be available,,,IE: Van Gogh one of my faves/ Sunflowers, now in a Japanese, financial institution I believe, at a cost of 2.5 million. I can buy a repro for quite a bit less,,,AND still enjoy it
